Title: Tech Info on Mars Bill Acceptors
Post by: fredster on April 15, 2004, 08:50:43 pm
Does anybody know of a web site that has tech support/manuals on the Mars Bill acceptors?

Anybody ever try and interface one to a Mame Machine?
(or anything else for that matter)

Mars is very protective of their copyrighted manuals. You won't find any online. You *have* to buy the service manuals and interfacing manuals from them through an authorized Mars distributor. Mars service manuals are very expensive. I needed one for a particular model and they charged me $100. Mars bill acceptors also require some specialized test jigs/service tools/power cords that only Mars makes. When you talk Mars you're talking get out the wallet----ouch!

You will probably have to phone Mars directly to tell them what you need, then get all the part numbers and order thru a distributor.

I'm just trying to determine how the thing hooks up.  What kind of signal it outputs, etc.

I came up with zilch on searches except for some bits and pieces.  SOMEBODY has got to have a manual somewhere.

I didn't find one on Ebay either.

Best thing to do then would be to call Mars tech support and tell them what model you have and what you'd like to do.
