I'm using an PS/2 version of the IPAC-4 with the update chips that allow it to be used with the new control panel designer software. I've programmed 3 different panel layouts (MAME, VPinball, and Virtua Fighter 2 - PC).
When I open a layout and upload it to the IPAC using the designer GUI, everything works fine. However, if I try to upload a layout via the command line, it doesn't work. The little status window says "downloaded successfully", but none of the inputs are remapped(although I feel like a couple of times some of them were, but I can't seem to reproduce that now).
I first saw this behavior when trying to program the IPAC through MameWah, but I can also reproduce it if I manually try to program it from the command line.
For what it's worth, I'm running the WinIPAC software on Windows XP (latest MS updates) / P600 / 512MB.
Has anyone else seen this before? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks.

I think there were some delay setting you could try. Try E-mailing Andy Warne, or you could post your question on their forum, if no one else here has any ideas:

Problem solved (thanks, Andy).
In case somebody else comes across the same problem, there is an updated version of the WinIPAC IPD software on Ultimarc's web site that takes care of it. It's not listed as an update - but the file date is 4/7/04, and the previous version I had was from 1/29/04.
