Does anyone know if there are any vecors of the Galaga spaceship or the following Pac-Man pic out there somewhere for download?
Thanks,

You can find the Galaga spaceship here:

But that's the easy one. I've never seen that Pacman image before...

Thanks for the info. I guess I should have been more specific. I'm looking for the actual spaceship from the game, not from the artwork. Thanks anyway.

FYI, you can upres stuff like the galaga ship (pixelated art) to infiniti in photoshop as long as you upres in multiples of 4 (?) something like that.... and have the interpolation set to "nearest neighbor", rather than the default "bicubic"

Anyway, just for kicks, I built a galaga ship for you in vector.

Vectorizing a pixelated image is tough though... in it's own weird way.
And about the pac man... that would be tough to vectorize.. you'd need to use the gradient mesh tool like mad to get those effects. That's not an easy process. I guess you could do a flattened, cartoony version of that, but you couldn't make it look all 3-d without using the gradient mesh tool.

I did the pixelated ship in the control panel overlay (in the instructional pictorials). Converting the screenshot to vector wasn't that hard. I used a grid and scaled the screenshot to match the grid. But then it seemd the image in the CPO wasn't exactly the same as the screenshot so I had to change it a bit before I could use it.
There apparently is (or will be) a 3D version of Galaga:

mahuti,
Thanks for all the help. You are the greatest!!! I don't have Photoshop. I do have Paint Shop Pro and I'm also fooling around with a Macromedia Fireworks eval copy. I downloaded the Illustrator demo, and I'm going through Frosty's tutorial, but I have to admit, I'm artistically/graphically challenged.
I'm re-doing the artwork for my Mame cab (a converted Mr. Do), and I really needed the Galaga ship for my marquee, which will say "Arcade Classics." The Galaga ship is going to be the second A in arcade. I'm going to fill out the rest of the marquee with some of the vector characters from your website. I saw the Pac-Man guy above in a lot of Mame marquees that I've seen out there, so I figured that maybe someone has already vectorized him. It's no big deal if I can't use him. The Galaga ship was more important.
Thanks again!! When I'm done with my artwork (marquee, bezel underlay and CP) I'll donate them to your archive (hopefully they'll be good enough so that other people will actuall want them).
Jeff
