I plan on wiring up my swappable CP with the DB25 (25 pin) printer connectors. My question is the wires in the connector are very thin (28 gauge), will this be ok to power a trackball and/or spinner through or do I need thicker wires. Oscar controls recommends 22 gauge?? Will thinner wire still work?? If not, I'm curious how others have powered their trackball/spinner with a swappable panel?

That should be fine. Very little current flows thru those circuits.

That should be fine. If you really want thicker cable, buy two 80mm fans from a local pc place, and use thier end connectors for the modular design. Then just solder your power and ground feed on one side and your trackball on the otherside. Worked great for me.
