Hi
I had a question concerning Genesis roms:
I'm trying to cut down all the duplicate dumps of games, so as to
only have the best version of each.
A lot of the Genesis roms have a code like [c]! after them.
Now I know that [c} means:
[c] This code represents a cart with known :\ : faulty checksum
routines.
and that [!] equals good dump.
So, I'm confused. The only verified good dumps of a lot of these
games are marked with a [c]and a !. Are these faulty games?
Basically, I don't really know what the [c] description means, and
how it affects the gameplay.
Any advice is truly appreciated.
Thanks

My guess is that the GoodCodes.txt distribed with GoodGens may have and error, and that the SPECIAL CODE NOTES for GENESIS should read....
- This code represents a cart with known faulty checksum routines.
not
[c] This code represents a cart with known faulty checksum routines.
as per the GENESIS SPECIAL CODES
[c] Checksum
But then again, I may be taking complete sh!t right now, as I know nothing about the structure of genesis roms, nor have I ever dumped one! :D
