Title: Radeon 7000 to Component?
Post by: philjones2000 on April 06, 2004, 06:32:26 am
Hi

I have a Sapphire Radeon 7000 and a SCART tv. Is there any way of getting "component out" from the Radeon (without buying an expensive adapter!)?

It seems a shame to have to use s-video, when I have RGB right there!

Surely there must be some way of making a cable myself?

Thanks

Phil

ATI has a VGA/DVI to Component converter, but the earliest card they list that it supports is the 8500.  The only other option you may have is to buy one of those external VGA to Component converters.  I've seen plans somewhere on how to make your own cable, but again, it may only work with the 8500 and up cards.  I hope you find what you're looking for.  Good luck.

Do you mean RGB with composite sync? Because I'm not sure what 'component' is.

This site describes exactly how to do it:

I have the same card you have and I've just built that cable and it's working perfectly.
