Title: jamma button wiring
Post by: tonylamp on April 04, 2004, 12:47:47 pm
Hi all.  I am a new to the arcade world and I just found this web site and I can tell you that I am very glad that I did.  It's great, I've learned so much in just the past 10 minutes.  I have a question and I am hoping someone can help me out.  When wiring a jamma game where do I get the power for the player buttons?  Do I use one of the 5V pinout?  Thanks everyone.

The buttons aren't "powered".  They're just switches that connect one of the JAMMA pins to ground when pressed.

Each button connects to a ground "loop" that is connected to one of the JAMMA grounds usually Pin "28" or Pin "f".

See this link for a little more info about JAMMA harnesses...
