Title: Can you generate a couple of gamelists for me.

Actually, I am basically just looking for one list.

Vertical
8-way or 2-way
single button
cocktail mode support.

I could TECHNICALLY also use the same list but for 4-way.

Or, maybe just this list.

I could split them between 4-way and 8-way myself since I know which games are 4-way and which are 8.

I have had my Gorf mame cocktail (built by someone else) for a couple months now, and I really need to get around to editing the gamelist (and upgrading the OLD OLD Mame version), so the darn thing only has games it can actually play installed on it.

Also making a school desk style 4-way cocktail too.

There is a program that does that, you can sort the list.  It asks for mame and then does some search, then it sorts it.

I can't remember the link.  Sombody must remember where it's at.

I think you're talking about SortInfo (http://hem.passagen.se/robert.palmqvist/Downloads/downloads.html), but that doesn't give any details about cocktail mode and isn't all that accurate control-wise.

The program is SortInfo.  It cannot do Cocktail support filtering that I know of.  I ran a prelim list and it came up with 233 games using:

Raster only
Vertical Only
1 or fewer buttons per player
1 4 or 8 way joystick per player
Not a clone
MAME status good


I won't post the list here, but I will send you a PM.

Use the gamelist creation tools in Kymaera, They can give you everything you need, including sorting by control type (4way 8way,etc...)

I would be interested in how you can produce a list of Cocktail games with Kymaera. I installed it and I was unable to create a filter that would only give me Cocktail games. Could you give more explicit instructions?

You can get the sort info list from my little sortinfo web page:

You can select "orientation = vertical", then add another switch (buttons <= 1), then add another switch (control=joy8way).

It won't give you very good information regarding 8way, 4way, 2way, or the coctail mode, but it's a start.
