Title: Using a gamepad to control Mamewah?
Post by: Stormy151 on March 31, 2004, 02:23:19 am
I am using Mamewah as a frontend for FCE Ultra (a Nintendo Entertainment System) as well as Mame.   I recently purchased one of the Retrozone USB gamepads to play the games (really cool BTW, I highly recommend them)- my problem is Windows XP sees it as a gamepad/joystick (buttons 1-8), not as keyboard inputs.

Is there a way to configure Mamewah to use gamepad control inputs to navigate the interface?  Or maybe an app that converts gamepad inputs to key presses?

I found an app called "joy2key" but it appears to be for Linux...

Basically, I'm trying to find a way so I don't have to drop the game pad, get up, select the next game using the cabinet panel controls, then go back to the gamepad to play the new game.  Man, I'm lazy... ;D

There is an english versio of JoyToKey available on the joytokey website.  The direct link for the english release is:

Mamewah has no direct joystick support (yet), so you'll have to use this program.

Thanks!  I thought it was a Linux app for some reason.
