Title: Hunting game emulation?
Post by: TheTurk on March 30, 2004, 08:10:43 pm
Recently, I have taken a fancy to playing the variety of hunting games available in my local arcades. Is there any comparable game available for the pc, that uses a light gun? May be emulated, or not. Thanks!

I agree, I would love to see Big Buck Hunter I & II emulated or available for purchase on pc. Those are great games to play with friends and some beer...

I imagine games like Deer Hunter would work with a lightgun as the lightgun behaves like a mouse, but I haven't tried this myself.

Here is another game I was looking into, are there any plans to emulate any of the Buck Hunter games?

Well... you have to find a mame dev who likes the games to start working on it.  Or hope another game works on the same hardware..

Then after that make sure the hardware itself isn't still being used..

I think a lot of them used the same hardware.  So you might find that they are still considered viable hardware platforms for new games... making them off limits.

Well, I doubt it will be in mame anytime soon.  They still sell.  And it is IT (golden tee gold people) that create most of them.

Unfortunately, most of the PC versions are too into the tracking and simulation aspects of hunting, not just the "blast a critter" part.
