Greets all!...
I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased one of these suckers?
http://www.gbagamez.co.uk/
If so, do you have a reliable US vendor? I'm reluctant to send my PalPay info. overseas.
I saw one for the first time this past weekend and it's really cool.

heh, is that legal

...not sure. Apparently it's basically an NES emulator.
I would guess this may be border line as it contains at least a couple of new Advance games.
I would be happy w/just the NES emulator.
There are other flash rom carts that you can load games to (roms)....but after spending 12 months gathering mame roms (and collecting pcb boards ;) ) I don't have the patience to do that again!

UPDATE!!!--- FYI- regarding gbagamez.co.uk.
For the heck of it before I sent off my PayPal info. I emailed a quiery to PayPal to see if this site was a legitimate site. I was questioning it because the web address extension off of paypal.com looked odd to me.
Long story short...I got this email today from PayPal--
"The website linked to this email is not a registered URL authorized or used by PayPal. We are currently investigating this incident fully. Please do not enter any personal or financial information into this website. "
Bottom line folks....if it stinks bad, it's probably bad!
Be careful out there!

PS- I'm still hoping someone may know of a US vendor for one of these!....thanks! ;D

Nintendo agressivly fights these carts, just ask Lik-Sang. If a site is openly sellign them, they havent been for long, and the wont be for long. Legal or not, Nintendo makes peoples days really bad over things like those.
-
I've seen those sold out of korea. The sites go up and down, and there are some on ebay from time to time. They sell them as "backup" cartridges. They can hold about 5 games.
I didn't want to spring for the $100 for the flash card and reader, but they are out there.
Nintendo doesn't think they are legal.
-
yeah I've seen a bunch of the back up carts. I was hoping for one that already had the games on it.
I had a chance to buy one a few days ago but the guy wanted $90. too rich for my blood!
-
Why are you hoping for one that has games already on it?
Games are readily available on the net for download.

Buy one of these (non-ultra model is sufficient):
http://www.flash2advance.com/ (http://www.flash2advance.com/)
From places like:
http://www.ps2modchip.com/ (http://www.ps2modchip.com/)
Go here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pogodist (http://sourceforge.net/projects/pogodist)
and here:
http://www.pocketnes.org/ (http://www.pocketnes.org/)
and here too:
http://www.webpersona.com/goomba/ (http://www.webpersona.com/goomba/)
read around, and before you know it, you'll be making you own compulations before you know it.... on any USB enabled PC.
PocketNES rocks, and is even better than nintendo's e-reader offerings...
Infact, the whole GBA dev scene is pretty cool..... SNES emu available, but in very early stages of development, but still very promising!!!

...thanks for the info.
I actually poked around last night and found a whole new emulation world....(many of the sites you pointed out).
....I was up and running in a few minutes....now to buy the flash card!
