History of video games and their obsession at 6:00 on Game show network (mar. 22)--2 hr show. I watched a bit last night and it was pretty interesting if not original--how atari started, why atari died etc, etc. I'm going to see if I can catch the whole thing tonight

Anybody watch this? I found it pretty interesting as I hadn't seen one of these "history of video games" shows yet. I think I'm going to throw it onto a DVD.

....I just watched it.
It was well produced and very informative hitting on a lot of the major milestones in the history of videogames without getting too bogged down onto any one topic.
The major distraction was the dead head presentation by Tony Hawk. I admire the guy for being able to turn his skateboarding skills into a brand...but the guy should not be the host of a 2 hour show.
He drones on and on with virutually no inflections in his tone. It's also highly obvious that he's concentrating on his cue cards for all he's worth.....he also stood as if he was balancing himself on a skateboard (out of sight of the camera).
Tony Hawk....OUT.
Other than him....it was a pretty slick production (despite the fact that I personally didn't learn anything new) it was fun to watch none the less.
I would probably buy this on DVD just to add to my collection if it ever comes out).

Is this the same history of video games that was on the History Channel (or maybe it was Discovery) last year or is a new production? I don't remember Tony Hawk being in the one I'm thinking of, but then I wouldn't know Tony Hawk if walked in my office in a tutu and sang Inna Gadda Da Vida.
