Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows a way in which to remove a lock from a coin door (like one purchased from eBay) without the key and without messing up the door?
-
open up the back door. Sometimes you can do it from there specailly if your coin door is an UP/DOWN.
-
get out your drill and a bit and drill it out.

If you can get to the back of the coin door, the lock is no problem. On my cabinet, you just unscrew a screw on the back of the lock, remove the metal bar and then loosen the nut that holds the lock in the coin door.

Sound like he has just the lock. Unscrew the back of the lock (there should be a screw there) and remove the cam. Then, there should be a nut that holds the unit to the door. Unscrew that, you may need pliers (I like to use a pair of vice grips.)
Then replace the lock. I know a guy that has them (http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=16683). ;)

Shotgun.

If you can't get to the back of the lock, you can try the old screwdriver trick. Just insert a screwdriver and turn hard until it moves 1/4 turn. Typically these locks are not that good, so that works. Then you can remove the lock and replace it.

Is the door already installed on a machine or did you just buy it and haven't put it on?

I am thinking about purchasing a coin door from ebay and the guy does not have the key for the one I am interested in. So I was just wondering how one would go about removing the lock. Thanks for the replies :)

Easy:
1. Remove the NUT
2. Remove the CAM
3. REMOVE another NUT under the CAM
4. Pull it out.
5. Replace w/a new one.

After removing the old lock then you go to the harware store or a lock shop and buy another lock and key.
