GREETS ALL...
I'm finally going to get my butt in gear and build a trackball stand-alone panel for my arcade cab.
I'm thinking seriously of purchasing the HAPP USB 3 button Trackball--
http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/565600xx2.htm
It's noted on their website that XP only supports a 2 button mouse and I would have to download a 3 button mouse driver from "somewhere".
Before I layout the bucks for this thing....has anyone had any luck with this particular model? ?????
Do you happen to have any 3 button mouse driver suggestions that would work well?
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Yipes - $153.00
You do realize that www.therealbobroberts.com sells the same trackball for $75-$80 and www.wicothesource.com sells 3" trackballs for $50.
Add an $8 interface from www.oscarcontrols.com and you've got your 3-button trackball.
(I think you need to add some wire leads for the third button to work on Oscar's interface, and e-mail him about XP support.
Don't forget to get a mounting plate too.

....thanks for the tip.
I was under the impression that the Happ I'm interested in was already USB 3 button ready (with wiring) for plugging in.
Do you happen to know if the Bob Roberts one is the same 3 button USB Happ? I just took a quick look on his site...but I can't tell for sure.

Well this is interesting - Basically what you are getting is their 3" trackball combined with their trackball interface kit, but the interface kit is $41.25, and the 3" high lip is on sale for $70, so I guess they're charging an extra $40.00 for the convenience of buying them together.
Bob won't have the USB interface, but that's what the OSCAR board is for. You would still need to run wires from OSCAR's board to your buttons and maybe crimp on some QD's, but for a $30 savings . . .

...yeah I noticed that too. I "assumed" that the one I posted the link to may be smaller as the USB interface seems to be integrated with the trackball.
....Since I have limited knowledge of exactly how to do this without frying my PC....I've been leaning towards the Happ all in one.
It seems easy (at least on the surface) to pull off...the hardest part would be to build a box to put all of the parts into it.

possible they're different products, but I don't know.
I don't think wiring up OSCAR's interface is very difficult, but I've never done it myself.

Mamemaster,
Does it have to be USB?
I have been very happy with the ps/2 3" 3Button trackball from Betson. They cost $79.00

...no...but I thought it would be the easiest for my situation as I have a panel that I can swap out with a steering wheel; my anticipated Yoke; and hopefully the trackball.
I really appreciate the suggestion though!
I'm going to order it and see if this works out. Worst case scenario I'll return it to happs.
I'll post progress on "project announcements" to record my progress.
