I cannot remember the name of this electrical connector I saw at one time, nor do I have a picture of one, as I am trying to find them. The best I can do is give you the attachment. I saw it used in a car stereo installation. One end was in the door jamb with speaker wire attached to it. The other end was in the door with wires running to the speakers. When the door was open, no contact. When the door was closed, contact, and the door speakers worked. This was used to eliminate running wire and kinking/fraying/shorting it in this tricky area. I believe the nodes were spring loaded so when the door was shut they would compress. There were two, three, four(+?)-node versions. Does this help or is there something I can do to describe them more for anyone? I can't even BEGIN to think of what they are named and haven't found anything close with a Google. (go ahead, look up electrical switch!)
I HAVE TO HAVE THESE SWITCHES!
PLEASE tell me the Throbbing BrainTM can help me with this! I'm counting on you guys!
*edit*
sorry about the small pic...turn it 90o and that's what it looked like...nodes pointing from jamb to door.

You could use the rear 3rd brake lamp/door switch connector off the back of a 1987 Camaro. It gave power to the light and told the car that the hatch was closed via 4 spring loaded pins that touched only when closed.
A junkyard and a screwdriver could net you a few of em cheap. ;)

The one's I'm familiar with are sold as "Jamb Tacs".
Eastwood has them, They're on page 21 of the electrical section.
Here's a link, hopefully this works. ;)

Cool, I knew what you were talking about, as I've used them before. I couldn't think of what they're called, and it took a few searches till I found some online. ;)

I've used these once before and liked 'em, and now I have to wire a few things into a door...searched for over an hour and couldn't find 'em since EVERYONE refers to them as Jamb Tacs. Sheesh, what's wrong with naming a switch A SWITCH! lol
Thanks again for the help. Whodathunkit? Car stereo installation help from an arcade controls web site?! :D
