Title: Help to fix a Midway HyperDrive Yoke Joystick
Post by: GGKoul on March 11, 2004, 09:17:46 pm
Hello

I just acquired this non working Yoke joystick that was used on a Midway Hyperdrive cab.  And I have a question for the experts out there.

Based on the pictures I've posted. What do I need to get the Yoke joystick in working order??

I understand I need to purchase a Gear and another "pot"  (whatever that is).  But do you see any other parts I may need

And does anyone know where I can purchase these parts?

Many Thanks!!

It appears you are also missing the parts needed for the x-axis.  They would be similar to what you've got for the y-axis there (some sort of turntable bearing, pipe to hold centering springs and to house wire, another set of gears and a pot, and any mounting hardware).

Also don't forget you'll need something to interface this to the PC.  If you use 100K pots this could be hooked to a standard joystick port connector.  Or you could use 5K arcade pots and hook it to a hacked Microsoft sidewinder joystick (USB).

GGkoul,
Would you like to send it to me, I can add the needed pots and gears to complete this for you?
