Hi All,
I'm trying to setup mamewah, but I'm running into a few issues...
I setup the cave1024 layouts, and the font is huge! I can only see three games onscreen for mame... how do I specify the font size?
I tried adding a -ctrlr sliktstik to the default options, but mame would not start. I ended up adding it directly to the mame cfg file... what is the format for those options?
I need the Visual pinball wrapper for mamewah, but how do you get the full table names in mamewah? also, do I need to unzip the tables to use them?
I still need to search for the daphne setup, so I don't know if that will work, but I can't wait until it all works :)
I really like the mamewah interface... I just want it to work :)
Thanks!

huge fonts is usually related to non-english language settings where for example a comma is used instead of a decimal point, but according to your profile you're in the US so this probably isn't it.
For daphne do a search on this forum there was a thread about it recently.
Smae for visual pinball

Use the Mamewah layout designer and adjust the font size for that skin.
Just open the layout. click on the item you want to adjust and then the adjustment is under "text properties" "font"

I agree with papasch, huge fonts usually means a regional setting (MAMEWAH doesn't like some). Go into Control Panel > Regional Settings and set the Decimal Symbol to '.' rather than ','.

-ctrlr slikstik would be right I believe - did you spell slikstik right (you didn't above ;) ). The best way is to edit mame.ini and set it there.

Here's what to do (assuming VPinball etc. is ready to go):
1) Set the Emulator Executable to VP-LAUNCH2.EXE (Howards wrapper, in the tables folder)
2) Set the ROM Path to your tables folder
3) Set the ROM Extension to VPT
4) Set the List Generation Method to ROM Folder Only
5) Refresh the list
I still need to search for the daphne setup, so I don't know if that will work, but I can't wait until it all works :)
Set your 'ROM path' to your framefiles path,
Set the 'ROM Extension' to TXT,
Set the 'Emulator Executable' to daphne.bat
Set the 'List Generation Method' to 'ROM Folder Only',
Create [daphnepath]\daphne.bat with something this in it:
start /wait [daphnepath]\daphne.exe %1 vldp -framefile [daphnepath]\framefile\%1.txt -fullscreen
Exit
To display the correct game name, create [daphnepath]\daphne.nms, which should contain something like:
Space Ace|ace
Dragon's Lair|lair
Hope that helps :)

Hi There,
I got Vpinball to work properly (sorta... if I start a table for the first time, it will ask the copywright question and then it will hang...(using Howard's wrapper) the next time I start the table, it works fine... I think the wrapper gets confused with the new windows that open...) Nonetheless, it works very nicely.
Now, I'm trying to get ZSNESW to work... I know I can load .zip files from within the program, but from mamewah, I can't seem to launch the program succesfully. I am trying to use the esc enabled version from screenshotarchive.com
Thanks!
Oh, and the font issue seems to be on the cavemulti layouts I got for 1024x768 (my language settings were fine...) changing the font on each layout fixes things.

I think Stuzza lists the settings to use with ZSNESW at his site too...

I tried those. I think the problem is with the zip files (GoodSNES set). I am going to try using one of the renaming tools to rename the files inside the zips.
We'll see what happens :)

i renamed the files with the renamer that comes with the mamewah setup program. made them all .smc, although im still having problems launching them... maybe youll have better luck

I don't think file names or zip files are the problem. Try launching a game from a command prompt to get the format right (I seem to remember ZSNESW can handle long filenames, and requires the extension). Then try to replicate the launch commandline from MAMEWAH, using debug.log after attempting to launch a game to see what's going on...
Sorry I don't use console emus much so don't have it setup atm.

Success!
I used nsrt (http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/?loc=links&t_text=Links (http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/?loc=links&t_text=Links)) and ran it on all the zips. I also realized that my roms where read only, so I changed that.
It works beautifully now (at least on the games I tried before going to work this morning...) next step, GBA and fixing Daphne :)
After that, getting PC games working so my wife can play real mahjong :)
Now, If only there was a view with multiple screenshots at once in Mamewah...

Ever used the Layout Editor?... ;)

Yes, but I meant seeing multiple games at once (like advmenu :))

Oh I see, sorry. Not something I will be doing anytime soon the way MW is currently written :(
