I have an Imperial 3" Golden Tee Golf TrackBall Assembly without a mounting place.
Can I use a 3" from happs on this item?
PS. Anyone else have this type of trackball?

I have the same trackball. I'm mounting mine on a custom made metal CP so I won't be using any type of mounting plate at all on mine.

Yes you can.

So then, what was your point of posting this response?
Just wondering why people do this.

He asked if anyone else has this trackball. I do, but posted that I'm mounting mine differently than he is so he wouldn't think I neglected to answer the part about the mounting plate. I thought he possibly had another question in mind specific to this type of trackball, but unrelated to the mounting plate.

I do have another question. I got this off of ebay and am awaiting for it to arrive. Does anyone have a mouse hack I can see to connect this to my pc? Also, is this a high ball?

Sure. However, I've since learned that the 'ground' that is in that pictures is not the ground at all. I've got to trace the actual ground.

Mine is being connected to an older Mac that uses ADB mice. On the off chance that you're doing the same thing I'll be happy to take close ups of my mouse hack. In any case, it's very easy to do. Read through Minwah's mouse hack tutorial, that told me everything I needed to know:

With this particular trackball you've got two red wires (5v+), two black wires (5v-), two green wires (ground). The other four wires are for the optical directions. I just hooked them up by trial and error until I figured out which was which. Only took a couple of tries.

I just wanted to update that I found the ground on this mouse, it was the green wire.
