I setup GroovyArcade earlier today and it was working great. I was having issues with attract mode getting videos to play so I figured I’d just reinstall. Now after reinstalling, it seems like switchres isn’t working right. I selected generic 15K, K7000, and Arcade 15K monitors and nothing is helping. I have no clue what could have changed on a new install.
Any ideas how I can fix this? If I manually run Mame at 640x480 the game looks fine. See the pic.

using gasetup, set your monitor to arcade_15 and report back :)

I completely reinstalled GroovyArcade (HD install) again and selected Arcade 15 as my monitor. It’s crazy that it was working fine but now it will work if I force 640x480 and it doesn’t look as crisp as it did yesterday:(
Actually I just tried forcing it to a lower resolution for a game that works (Robby) and it’s working at 352x240@60. It will not work with the default setting 320x224_59 it tries, but it worked yesterday 🤷♂️

Yea it’s something with SwitchRes. I get the multiple stamp sized images until I set the resolution to at minimum 350x224.
I guess some mode setting is screwed up. I just don’t understand how everything worked perfectly right out of the install yesterday

Try dotclock_min 8.0 in switchres.ini.

I did some stuff in mame.ini to force the resolution to 350x224 and turned off switchers and that was acceptable. Then I saw your message so I put everything back to the way it was, and set this and things are working now.
Interestingly enough, I put it back to 0.0 and it’s still working. Mame log says it’s running the 320x224 resolution. So idk what happened but it’s working 🤷♂️
Thanks for that tip! I feel like I ran into this a few years ago as well but it was something different.
