Title: Use AI to alter Daytona USA

Can I use ai to modify the old arcade game Daytona USA. I want to turn off catch up. It allows the cars behind you to catch up to make the game more competitive. But the this mode is switched off by the game when playing against the computer, so it must be possible to turn it off in the script somehow.
I want to alter the script, can AI reverse engineer the game so I can make changes
