I have in storage a NOS stargate cpo that I would like to be able to share with others. What is the best way to convert it into a file? Find a print shop with a huge scanner or take a pic of it?
-
If you can take some really high res pictures of it that would probably suffice. A scan would be best though, because the artwork will be flat on the scanner and should come out nice and square. If you want to have it vectorised I'll be happy to do it. It's a pretty simple design, should only take a couple hours.

You dont need to find a HUGE scanner. Just find a normal sized scanner and scan it in pieces. It will be easy to put it back together.

Good point. Not sure why that didn't occur to me.

I was gonna do a vector version of the Stargate CPO based on an image that comes by on ebay now and then (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3280187051&category=13718#ebayphotohosting). As you can see it's a nice clean image of the CPO. Maybe that can be used to straighten things out if you scan your CPO.
I'm working on the Galaga bezel now, but if noone has taken up the Stargate CPO when I'm finished on that one, I'm game ;D

I have a high-res cocktail CPO. You could use the ebay one for the shapes, and mine for the logo.

actually I think the side-art is in the vector library... so the logos probably already done.
