I've got a Megatouch throwing the dreaded POWER SAVING MODE, DSUB ANALOG message after it wasn't powering on and I replaced the CR2032 and attempted to short it on. Otherwise, no power.
From what I'm reading it's likely I need a new motherboard - frustrating when the stuff that is supposed to work like the shorting of the power due to a bad CMOS battery - doesn't work. But it is what it is. Motherboards die.
I've got an Asus K8N-VM/S inside. there's a daughterboard above it as well which I assume (hope?) is fine. Is there a suitable replacement for this board that doesn't cost the $200+ they are commanding on ebay?

What version software are you running? If 2009 or higher, you can ( with a little modification ) fit a Intel D945GCLF2 in there. You will need different ram (i would get 512mb) for that motherboard, but it does come with a built in cpu/gpu.
I do have a few ASUS K8N-VM boards, some new old stock and some used. I would probably sell new old stock for $150 but you would have to use your cpu and ram. Used ones im not sure if work or not but i would probably sell them for $50.
