I don't think Pacman/Ms.Pac had volcano buttons in a real arcade but I think this feature is in MAME thou.

The ones I remember in the real arcades are:
Asteroids
Asteroids Deluxe

most Atari Arcade Games had volcano buttons.

I think he's talking about actual player buttons rather then start buttons. If so then the first games that come to mind would be a few of the Williams games ie. Robotron,Sinistar,Narc also a couple of Gottlieb games ie. Q-bert,Krull and Mad Planets all had backlit translucent player buttons. I'm sure there's more.

Robotron didn't have player buttons. The translucents were start buttons.

If youre willing to dig thru the mame source, a list oculd be put together. If you started with one of the games that's known to work- like missile command, tempest, asteroids- you could find the string used.. Its in the same section as the inputs

I started doing this many versions ago, when you had to compile yourself if you wanted no warnings, but I havent touched it in a while

Doh! and neither did Q-bert...But if they did have gameplay buttons like the others I mentioned I bet they'd be lit SO THERE ! ;) (I feel like I just had a 1st grade moment) Anyways, their are a few out there that have em.

so basically we're talking early atari games--my q-bert has translucent player 1 and 2 buttons but they don't blink when money is added--I'll have to investigate further..thanks for the list so far...

BattleZone, Missile Command (as said, early Atari Stuff)

As said previously, Pac-Man (and variants does), I think Pac-Man may have had LED's mounted above the start buttons (but I don't remember seeing them on any of the CP pictures I've seen)

I knwo the Gottlieb games have been mentioned already, but Reactor had translucent, light-up buttons that were used both for 1p-2p and the in-game actions.  IIRC, in attract mode they would light up in sequence.
