Title: A-board and B-board cartridges
Post by: jteexy on June 04, 2024, 10:49:22 am
I've found a few cps2 system cartridges and was curious about how this works. I've looked up tutorials but all I get are emulator lnks.

I do know that an A-board and a B-board are needed but nothing else. Like what connections and hardware or controls do I need. Does the A-board have to match the particular B-board or can us any B-board with any A-board.

As per https://cps2shock.emu-france.info/techinfo.html (https://cps2shock.emu-france.info/techinfo.html) the game cartridge is the "B board" while the system is the "A board" and there are color/region locks.

However, it's highly probable that the battery in the game cartridge is dead and the game cartridge is useless without reprogramming; see https://cps2shock.emu-france.info/suicide.html (https://cps2shock.emu-france.info/suicide.html) for more info.
