See my post (with pic) on MAMEworld forum: https://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=396719 The tldr; of it is: there's an undumped version of Super Hang-On out there, it seems to be a ride-on unit.
I doubt anyone out there has a cabinet with that version in it, which could be dumped and added to MAME?
Otherwise my upcoming comparison of it will be a bit off, as most of the versions will feature a different layout! :lol

It's not this version is it - Limited Edition Hang-On? I only found out this was a thing about a year or so ago.

Wtf is the “mame forum?”

He's probably referring to this post on MAMEWorld.

Yeah that's the one, the link went AWOL along the way, it seems!

Looks like a slight shift in camera angle, I’m not convinced.

They are different, if you run the first track in a Yakuza port vs MAME, the corners are different.
Sega did the same thing in the original Hang-On, leading to people saying the version of Shenmue 2 HD was a new course, see my video on that here:

Basically, at some point, Sega switched from using the upright version of the game (as in the Dreamcast original) to the ride on version (which is what Ryu plays in game)

Right think I sussed this. There are at least 3 versions of Super Hang-On tracks out there, with the ride-on and Limited Edition using the easier ones seen in Yakuza/Lost Judgment. But the sprites are offset in the ports on those games, leading to my confusion!

Here's a video I made about it, to show that none of the PC home ports are truly arcade perfect:
