Title: ROM hacks for MAME (NBA Jam Rewind, Mortal Kombat Plus, SSF2T New Legacy)
Post by: the_77x42 on December 24, 2023, 05:20:12 pm
My cabinet uses MAME 0.178 because I have found it has the best support for the old ATI cards I use with GroovyMAME. I wanted to get a couple great ROM hacks (NBA Jam Rewind (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/6989/) and Mortal Kombat Plus (https://mkombat.plus/)) to work seamlessly. I've attached a diff that I created to do just that. If you want to port it to later versions of MAME it shouldn't be too difficult. I've added the games as clones, so if you want to have them appear as a separate entry in your front end, you might be able to just edit your mame.xml or else make them a separate set (mk2p, umk3p, and nbajamrw respectively).

To use the diff, I use MAME Compiler 64 (https://www.baker76.com/mame-compiler-64/) (v2.0.176) and the MAME 0.178 source (https://github.com/mamedev/mame/releases/download/mame0178/mame0178s.zip). It's simple and it works.

EDIT: I've also now added Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo New Legacy (https://newlegacy.fr/) (ssf2tnl).
