Title: Can I possibly cut wires on a set of speakers and solder on another set of speak
Post by: jteexy on September 22, 2023, 08:35:52 am
I think the answer in no, because I don't think it works like with electricity, but just in case I'm wrong I'm going to ask. Can I possibly cut wires on a set of speakers and solder on another set of speakers? So from output to 2 it's outputting to 4 speakers? And let's say the values are the same (impedance or what not) 6ohm. Thanks In Advance

Short answer = no, not like you're currently thinking.

Longer answer = yes, after some additional understanding (and different speakers).

This page will explain: https://soundcertified.com/speaker-wiring-diagram-guide/
You'll want the ohm load of the new speaker system to be the same as the ohm load of the original speaker system.

You should also consider if your audio source has the power to drive the additional speakers.
