I'm early in my installation.
I've managed to install Groovy Arcade and get it up and running on my Wells Gardner D9205 CRT. I've gotten mame so it will run roms.
Problem for this thread is that the sound I'm getting out of the system sounds very "thin" like it's coming out of some super small speakers. I've got a subwoofer and two 6" coax speakers in my cabinet and in the past (it's been 20 years since I had this running!) it sounded great. I'm getting zero sound out of my subwoofer.
I'm not sure if there is a menu option (I can't find it) or an .ini edit I need to do to get the sound up to par, but would really appreciate any suggestions.
Will be posting a few others questions - and if I get this up and running I definitely want to send some support that helped make this happen but for now Thanks in advance.

no 5.1 support. gonna have to swap to something like zinc or some other emulation that supports sub out.
otherwise stereo (2.0) your setup and lowpass/highpass your speakers

@lilshawn - Sorry I was unclear in my description - I have a normal stereo system. It is NOT a 5.1 or surround system. the (Logitech I think) speaker system just has a "subwoofer" that takes the low frequencies in the system and plays it and then routes the rest to the much smaller "normal" speakers.
But it's not doing any surround processing, it's just a normal stereo input (green plug into my computer). the same speaker system plays stereo fine full frequency when booting windows.

Just following up to my own message - still hoping someone can help. I'm wondering if there is a way to download any drivers or something to the underlying linux kernel because clearly this seems to be a software / driver issue of some kind. I'm about a 2/10 on the Linux knowledge scale so not smart enough to figure it out on my own and my search so far has been empty.
Please fellow CRT mame buddies give me a hand here.
