So I have the potential opportunity to purchase 4 boxed 17" 15Khz new/unused arcade monitors (chassis/tube/manual/cables). I much prefer arcade monitors to flatscreens, and I have a few future projects in mind. My question really is about their worth. They're a niche item, yet rarer and rarer to come by. What are your thoughts on value for something like this? I know it's subjective to a point, but should I not end up using them after a good period of time, would they lose value?

If you are going to pay 100 euro/dollar each, they will probably keep their value. If you are goimg to spend more, you should probably be ready for a loss.
17" is not a dension for arcade games, but slot machines and that's where those are coming from, probably

19 is about where you'd want to start honestly. 17's are really only used in early cocktail and late 70's arcade machines. by the time things stated to get more standardized with cabinets through the 80's, 19 inches was pretty much the defacto size.
so unless you got a pile of old counter top megatouch cabinets with no CRTS in em'... or plan of building some small countertop arcades out of them AND could get them for cheap, i'd probably pass.
niche or hard to come by =/= rare.
then again... doesn't matter how old and obsolescent something is... keep it for long enough and eventually SOMEONE out there will pay anything to get one. if you want to bank on that idea, all the power to you. it's your money.
