Title: Question: 3" and 2 1/4" Trackball Reviews?
Post by: wakerlet on March 04, 2004, 09:57:30 am
Can anyone who has experience with at least two different company's trackballs give an executive summary of the differences or likes/dislikes?  Most interested in feel, construction and durability.

Let me know if I missed any options.

2 1/4" Units:

Happ 2 1/4" TB
Betson/Imperial 2 1/4" TB
Wico/Ultimarc 2 1/4" TB

3" Units:
Happ 3" TB
Betson/Imperial 3" TB
Wico 3" TB

Thanks,
Todd

Happ has about 3 versions of the 3" trackball (high-lip, high-ball, regular).

Search the board.  Urebelscum has posted many comparisions of the differences.

FWIW, just in case you look at getting a used TB:
Atari TB == happs normal TB.  Not the "high lip" or "high ball" models, although those are based off the normal/Atari model.  The high lip is so much like the Atari/normal model it can replace them (if used with the included spacer/shim).

FWIW, there are different models even with one size & company:
High lip (aka high rim, aka golden tee model) is nice if you are going to use lexan/plexi.  Happs, betson, and (if think) wico all have this and the normal models.
High ball is a new-ish happs model.

Like Tiger-Heli said, do an advanced search for trackball by me (urebelscum) and the number days set ~360.  You'll get quite a few posts. ;)
