Title: Photoplay 2000 cabinet with groovyarcade
Post by: kyhwise31 on December 20, 2022, 07:05:04 am
I have a photoplay 2000 cabinet which was not working anymore.
The CRT monitor is still working.
I installed Groovyarcade on a pc with this monitor.
In attractmode and when i go to the linux shell, the image is clear and sharp on the monitor.
But everytime I start a rom in attractmode, my screen got scrambled and I always have to adjust H.HOLD on the adjustment panel of the monitor.
When I change this H.HOLD a little, the image gets perfect again.
Can I handle this in a config file or something in the software, so I don't have to adjust this on the panel anymore?

You will get a better response by posting these questions on the "Groovymame" branch of this forum.

I expect you'll need to tighten the CRT_range parameters. Try using the NTSC monitor presets to tighten mode creation (and therefore mode selection by Groovymame) to always be close to 15,750/60hz. Otherwise get used to adjusting the H-hold each time.

DISCLAIMER: I don't use GroovyArcade, only the Windows versions of CRT_emulator and Groovymame, but same principles should apply.
