...that I could hire to help me build a MAME cab?
-
how much you looking to pay?
perhaps your money would be best spent buying an already done machine.
-
I wish I was closer. I would be glad to help.
You are like an 8 hour drive away.

Why are you asking for help?
Woodworking: There are companies that produce IKEA-style "flat pack" kits or you might be able to find a suitable non-working and/or partlially-stripped arcade cabinet in the greater Springfield area.
Wiring: There's a slight learning curve, but it should work out fine with a little practice, taking things one step at a time, and using velcro or twist-ties to keep the wires neat as you build the harness. You might also consider buying a replacement JAMMA harness, cutting off the edge connector, stripping the wires, and connecting them to your IPac or other encoder.
Software/configuration: There are lots of guides for installing and configuring MAME. It is easier to find a suitable ROMset first then download the corresponding version of MAME/GroovyMAME.
- For example, if you find a MAME v0.241 ROMset, download v0.241 of MAME/GroovyMAME. If a ROMset doesn't clearly state which version it is, find one that does.
