Title: Sending messages on a new account

I setup my account on here a couple weeks back, but cannot send messages. It's telling me I'm not allowed. How do I enable this?
Sorry to post here - but the HELP section isn't really helpful for this and I've searched for the answer on the site but came up empty.

I believe that you aren't allowed to message people until a moderator has had a look at your account after a first post.

Bot/spam/jackass control gate as it were.

On a weekend it may take a little bit as those guys may be up to things other than monitoring the mayhem here.

As Bobby mentioned, "Newbie" accounts not being able to send PMs is a spam-prevention feature -- we get lots of would-be spammers.

When your first post was approved, your account was auto-upgraded from "Newbie" to "Jr. Member" status so now you can send PMs.   ;D
