Is there an easy to follow guide for Illustrator that is easy to understand, not too much reading, and includes stuff like seperating layers and matching colors. I'm not planning on doing a whole lot with Illustrator, mostly just editing existing stuff like a cpo to match my controls.
I'm also trying to make sure that the galaga sideart marquee etc. all have the same colors, but the sideart seems to be one piece while the marquee I can move the pieces individually. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but the things that are the same from one piece of artwork to another should be the same right? But the word Galaga on the sideart looks darker than on the marquee.

Have you checked out Frosty's tutorial?

Good stuff.
With the color question, you can check the colors in Illustrator. If a Pantone or other known color was used, Illustrator will recognize it. If not you can add the color to your pallette, and make the colors the same.
Don't worry if the colors may not be right, if they are all the same on your artwork, the final product will look much better.
Good luck

Sounds like the individual parts on the side art are grouped and the marquee parts are not. Try ungrouping the side art. I think this is under the "object" menu, but I'm not using my Mac right now, which is the computer I have Illustrator on.
