Hi,
I am not sure where to post this. I've searched the internet, but I can't find a solution. Whenever I play outrun in my cab the traffic disappears into the distance and then there isn't any more traffic. Also, the timer runs out before I can even complete the first section. Is there a setting somewhere that I have inadvertently checked when setting up my wheel?
thanks,

Sounds like something incorrect with your gas / brakes (same axis?). Like you are only driving half speed and cars are faster than you. How is it remapped when you 'tab' into controls?

Sounds like the game is only getting a limited range of values because your gas pedal hasn't been calibrated and/or MAME hasn't been properly configured.
Go to Windows Control Panel -- Devices and Printers.
- Right click on the icon for your wheel/pedals -- Game Controller Settings -- Properties.
- Check if moving the wheel and pedals through the full range of physical motion moves the crosshair/slider through the full range of motion. Calibrate if necessary.
I assume you've already read through the stickied beginners thread here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,105961.0.html) and adjusted deadzone, saturation, etc. ;D

Or maybe the shifter is backward, or not mapped so you can't change from low gear to high gear?

This sounds like the most culprit to me.
