Hey all,
My second cabinet using t molding (the first was a breeze!) And I'm struggling something fierce. T molding goes in great for a few feet, and then I hit a spot where it just wants to fold over??
Obviously, the more I try to correct it, the worse it gets, lol
Anybideas on why it's folding over and suggestions on how to fix it? Right now I'm thinking my only option is to cut off the squished barb and glue it will I continue on?

Did you cut the slot? Is it around a corner or in a straight away? Check to make sure the slot is as deep as it needs to be.

Yeah, the slot has been cut and looks good for depth, it's on a straight away, the base of the narb just folds

I have found (the hard way of course) that if you are whacking away with a mallet and aren't very careful to keep that barbed rib lined up pretty darned precisely with your slot and you give it a whack and squish it a little...?
You're kinda boned.
It's only plastic and with a good shot it will twist and stretch and never be quite right again.
If it is only for a small bit on a flat section you can (carefully) cut out the ribbed part that twisted/stretched (leaving the face you can see of course) and just press on.
I have gotten away with it twice and you can't tell looking at it.
I also run a hand saw through the slot all around the cab and vacuum it out just before I start to install the t-mold.
If paint, dirt, sawdust, etc. got in there and you didn't notice it will give you the same undesirable result.
Other thing is to just start with a fresh piece.
It's cheap.

Yeah, Good call, will see what I can do later today, but I may just order more and start fresh!
