Title: Problems with PPJoy
Post by: dommer on February 27, 2004, 02:40:03 am
I cant seem to get ppjoy installed.  When I run setup, right after selecting to install the unsigned driver, I get an error message saying that the driver could not be copied, "You will need to manually install the device drivers."

Then whenever I attempt to run it, it says it cant communicate with the device, the device doesnt show up in the device manager, and I get the following in the event manager:

Source: PPJoy
The description for Event ID ( 2063 ) in Source ( PPJoyBus ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: , 0.78.0.000.

Any ideas?

did you go into the control panel and load the drivers from there.  If you read the website it has a walk through on how to do it.

Yeah, when I do that, it says that it cannot find the specified file.  When I open up the inf file, the only file I see referenced that isn't available is layout.inf.  Hmm, well I'll keep at it, I'll post if I find anything out.
