Title: Arcade Monitor to PC
Post by: paulywauly on February 26, 2004, 11:13:33 pm
Hi.

I bought an arcade monitor with no chassis which i am hoping to use with a pc for mame use.

I have been told that my monitor will take a kortek 25" chassis. However I am under the impression that I can hook the monitor up to a computer without a chassis as I have an ArcadeVga card from ultimarc. Is this true? If so how would I do this as I have basically no electrical skills or knowledge. I seem to have a group of 4 wires coming from the monitor red, green, blue and yellow. Also there is a group of 2 red wires and one seperate black wire. I can send photos of the connections if needed.

Any assistance would be gretly appreciated

Paul

Quick, call a professional before you hurt yourself...  I'm just kidding with you.  But, no, there is no way to hook up any type of monitor without the proper chassis.  Don't try to hook up the wires to anything that is not a chassis, you will break something and maybe even hurt yourself.

you can either check e-bay for a kortek chassis or get yourself an 8-liners chassis (http://www.genao.com/datatech/monitor.html)

and hook that up.  if none of those interest you, put your tube up here for free giveaway and get yourself a complete unit.
