Just a friendly poll to see what colors y'all like on your cabs!
If you don't see an option you like, write-ins are acceptable...
-
Why, Pac-Man yellow of course!
-
Glossy-black with a flat-black for contrast ::)
Thank you Paul Jr.... we are all now a little dumber.
Is wood-stain a color?

If you like woodgrain formica...
-
But... But... But... What about my original orange Reactor cab? You saying it's so ugly it doesn't even deserve a spot on the poll? :'(
-
Good point... where's the "other" option. What about multi-color eye sores? Those seem to be popular as well ;D

Woodgrain, marble (ugh) whatever, if there's a color that's not listed, write it in. We only get 8 slots in the poll-maker folks... :P

I can think of excellent examples of most of them, and horrible of all of them. Black with a well chosen set of color graphics is probably the best solution, but then there's pacman yellow...
-
btw... your having your cabs milled right?
Is there a minimum cab count on the cuts? IE, starting with 3 4x8s do you end up with the wood for 1 cabinet? Or do you have them all mixed around (so to cut the top panels you do 5 on one sheet?).
If you have it designed one cab per set of wood... you SHOULD be able to do custom orders without much trouble.
-
I change my vote to the full sideart that has the images that change when you look at them and move (whats the name of that... the textured look at 3 angles).
One for each control panel...
That... might... cost as much as the rest of the cab...
but would really really be cool!
-
What, no Centipede (off-) white? Okay, okay, without sideart the white surface would look dull. :D

I was thinking of that. The two side panels will have to be on separate sheets, there's no way around that. If you laminate both of those, that means you have room for some other major panels to be cut from those sheets. The third sheet could be mainly the unseen panels, and left black.
Adding laminate will add expense, so the standard would probably be black melamine, and colored laminate can be added at an extra charge. Anyway, this is for the other thread... ;)

Or just wait until e-paper (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1292852.stm) is available in large sizes...you could have the appropriate sideart be displayed on the entire side panel depending on what game you're playing! You could have changeable panel art too... -drool-

:o :o Can I have mine in TIE DYE? Groooovy, man. :o :o
-
I've been toying with the idea of using a glowing green color on black... I'm trying to get a radioactive effect.
-
what about a Hypercolor cab!!! you breathe on it and it turns a different color....ah yes, the early 90's or late 80's...i cant remember 8)
-
I'm thinking a deep blue - with a few coats of clear laquer
-
You forgot white. White is the 3rd most common cabinet color (after black and woodgrain). I have at least 4 white cabinets (Do! Run Run, Kangaroo, Turbo, Sprint 2).

I thought I had put white...ok, it's there now. I'd refuse to make a marble cab anyway! :P
-
I think it depends what the cabinet is for.
Ex. fighting games, retro games, etc.
-
What about Light Blue (A.K.A. Donkey Kong Blue)? ???
-
Oh, how about Sea Foam Green?
Pastels are cool! :o
-
And don't forget "Joust Brown" ;)
