Title: Cruis'n World, remove gear stick to be able to re-paint plate?
Post by: AE35 on August 14, 2021, 03:05:46 am
Hi guys (and Scott I hope :) )

Still in the process of giving Cruis'n World an overhaul before putting it in its final place. The "gear plate" is pretty bad, so I would like to paint it. However, the ball is in the way. Now, I have removed the back plate holding in the microswitch assy for gear switching (also, one of the microswitches was not connected to the leads). Any advice how I can get the plate off? I hope I can put it back together again :)

Hi guys (and Scott I hope :) )
You make it sound like I'm not one of the guys.   :P   :lol

You could probably figure out your tear down and rebuild questions from the manual and/or the exploded view of the shifter on the Suzo-Happ site.

In this instance, I'll defer to the expertise of the people who have hands-on experience with this particular shifter and/or cab.

You aren't.

So the gist is you have to release the shifter, slide it out the front then unscrew the plate screws. If it were me, I'd just tape it (and the dash) off and hit it with a rattle can.

He knows the hypothesis that you’re an advanced chatbot running out of the Midwest is probably true.
