Title: Cruis'n World leg levelers - where to get?
Post by: AE35 on July 24, 2021, 01:15:32 pm
Hi guys

I am working on restoring my Cruis'n World sitdown arcade. The leg levelers are pretty crusty on the main cabinet, so I want to change them for new ones. I originally thought that these would be the same as are present on pinball machines, but they are a lot bigger - at least on the seat section...see picture below. Any advice where I can get them (maybe in Europe)? Black would be cool :)

Looking on page 43 of the manual here (https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-videogames/C/Cruisn%20World%20Single%20SitDown%20Version.pdf), it shows the leg leveller P/N 08-8023 has 1/2"x13 threads.

Based on this listing, it appears that P/N 08-8023 is 4-1/4" long.

With those two specs, it shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable replacement.   :cheers:

Hi

Thanks for the information!

I can get the length in cm, but how on earth do I get cm from 1/2"x13? I have no idea what the x13 means  :)

I doubt you'll find a suitable metric substitute for just the original leg leveler.
- If you can't find an SAE/imperial-measurement leveler, you're better off replacing both the leveler and the plate it threads into.

When describing threads, you need to know the diameter and the pitch -- the distance between threads.

1/2" = 12.7mm (diameter)

The x13 indicates 13 threads per inch ==> 1"/13 threads = 25.4mm/13 threads =  1.9538mm/thread (pitch)
- Imperial pitch can also be indicated with a dash.  i.e. a #4-40 machine screw indicates 40 threads per inch.

Thanks for the advice...I will look into what to do then :) I wish they were just standard pinball-leg-size levelers :)
