Title: JVL Encore Motherboard/Monitor Question
Post by: arcadezz on July 07, 2021, 09:51:46 am
Hi All,

I picked up a JVL Encore but sadly its missing the GameBox (motherboard). Does anyone know a replacement motherboard that can be used? Also, the monitor cable is a connector I have not seen. Anyone know what it is? Is it a LVDS cable? Any idea how to make it HDMI?

Thanks!

Its a proprietary motherboard (jp70) You will have to directly replace it. 1st, the monitor doesnt have a controller, the controller is onboard the jp70 and the monitor gets power from the motherboard via that special lvds cable. There is a inverter but that only powers the ccfl's in the monitor, not the monitor drivers.Actually upon further inspection that special lvds cable also powers the inverter.

Thanks for the info, was hoping that wasnt the case as its far too expensive to find/replace the board :(
