Title: Most played games in Mame

With 4000+ games there definitly a lot of choices.  What games are played most often by everyone?  Any recommendations?  I like a good side scroller, medieval themed games, and shooters.  Current favs:

Willow
Rastan

Rygar is a great side scroller.

Check out DoDonPachi, The Metal Slug Series, and Shock Troopers.  I think they are some fun shooters.  Also, you can't go wrong with classic shooters like Centipede and Galaga.

I find I don't actually play any games any more  :'(  Hopefully when I finish my cabinet that will end, and I will play the following for hours on end:

Final Fight
Knights of the Round
RoadBlasters
Blasteroids
Hydra
OutRun

And no doubt many more  ;D

I'm a fan of the side scrolling brawlers like Final Fight and Double Dragon,  and also the vertical shooters like 1941, 1942, 1943, and especially GUNSMOKE!

I think I'm building a cabinet mostly just to play Gunsmoke.  Maybe on some subconscious level I feel it might make up for the hundreds of dollars I pumped into it back in High School.  Whatever the case, Gunsmoke will always be my number one played game!

On my horizontal 8-way cabinet these get the most play (at least lately).

Moon Patrol
Jungle King
Money Puzzle Exchanger
That Neo Geo bowling game
Tetris
Final Fight
Uo Poko
Berzerk
Robotron
Joust
Moonwalker

On my Pac style cabinet these are most popular.
All the Pacs.
Galaga
Pleiades (play the Centuri version, much better than the Tehkan version).
Nibbler
Galaga (Fast shoot).
Loco-Motion
Dig Dug
Mr. Do/Mr. Do's Castle
Frogger

On my 8-way vertical cocktail.
Gorf
Space Invaders
Gyruss
Bump N Jump
1942

On my vertical 8-way mini.
Invaders Return
Space Firebird
Up N Down

On my trackball cabinet
Star Wars

Love the announcer during gameplay "OK let's see what you've got"......"power up"
