Title: Mounting Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT from the Bottom without Routing?
Post by: Richardgregory on March 04, 2021, 10:08:33 am
I'm using 3/4" plywood, and my thought was to bottom mount the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT without routing - I know, I know, with a 34mm joystick shaft it'll leave just 15mm when mounted, so it'll be less than 10-15mm below the 'standard/normal'.  However, thinking back to the Galaga Cab, the joystick also has a very short shaft....so thinking maybe I could get away mounting this way?  What is the disadvantage of having a joystick shaft shorter than the norm?

Just personal preference.

As men we try to make the shaft look longer not shorter.

You might run into the stick hitting the edges of the hole.

Both great points.  Make sure your shaft clears the hole or it will limit everyone's fun.
