I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this game before, but it kind of came out of left field for me. I picked it up on sale on the Nintendo Switch and was shocked at its "arcadyness" Its seems like the developers really know arcade games and what makes them great. The minute to minute gameplay is super satisfying and the boss fights are extremely well designed. It almost seems like the game was meant for an arcade cabinet and in fact the developers will be selling a cabinet at some point I guess. I believe it is out on PC but only on the Epic games store for now, but will be coming to Steam. In my opinion this is not just another 16 bit nostalgia cash grab, the game is excellent.https://huntdown.com/arcade/ (https://huntdown.com/arcade/)
Anyway I highly recommend checking it out.

Yes!, its like an amalgam of all the best 80s action and sci-fi flicks. You can even see pixelated movie posters for movies like The Thing and Alien here and there in the game. its really fun to play too...

Totally agree. I saw this on Epic as one of only like 2 or 3 results from a search for "arcade".
It's definitely marketed to us arcade enthusiasts. It looks fun and humorous. I usually only get games on sale from Steam, but I doubt I will want to wait for this to be discounted.

Be great if it can be run as a standalone exe so you can easily play it in a mame cab.

We could probably debate the word "easily", but if you're using RocketLauncher, setting up a Steam game is just as easy as a standalone exe.

As long as steam is running.
Getting steam to load offline is a bit of a mess.
Most people dont have their cabs connected to the net permanently.

Looks good. I’ll check this out.

Can't you just set steam to offline mode? I thought that's what I was doing with my 4 player cab. Steam stays in offline mode until you change it back. But I could be mistaken.

You can yes.
But I dont like doing it as occasionally it decides it wants to go online and throws up error windows.
Also makes boot up slow.

Ahh, I see.

Slow boot time is definitely a valid point.
I also used to keep my cab pc offline, but then I just bought a decent wifi antenna and I wish I had done it sooner. I'm using Win 10 so I was trying to avoid the updates, but lo and behold I would still get that &$@!) "What's new with Windows" screen every so often. ...pisses me off. So I figured, may as well stay connected. Especially now that I've become a Steam connoisseur (for arcade-friendly games only, of course).
