Title: Spectra Eclipse + I-Pac Ultimate
Post by: DiB on February 18, 2021, 09:52:47 pm
I have an I-Pac Ultimate and want to wire in a boat load of Spectra Eclipse RGB buttons.  Unfortunately, the Spectra Eclipse buttons have no termination on them and the I-Pac has what I think are 4-pin connections.  Given that I have a ton of these buttons to wire, what is going to be a good way to make these connections so that they are solid?  Is there a harness of some kind? (my google-foo is failing me here.)

I have an I-Pac Ultimate and want to wire in a boat load of Spectra Eclipse RGB buttons.  Unfortunately, the Spectra Eclipse buttons have no termination on them and the I-Pac has what I think are 4-pin connections.
Here are two approaches to consider.

1.) Crimp female Dupont pins on the Spectra Eclipse RGB wires and insert them into 1x4 (recommended) or 1x2 or 1x1 Dupont housings.
- This requires a decent ($25?) ratcheting crimp tool and some practice crimps to perfect your technique, but is the best and cleanest way.

2.) Use Euro terminal strips and M-F Dupont jumpers.
- Pull the 1x1 Dupont housings on the F end of the jumpers and use 1x4 housings. (optional but recommended)
- Easier to do than #1 above, but it takes more space.
- Use one 12-position strip (shown below) for 3 buttons.

Spectra Eclipse RGB wire ==> Euro terminal ==> (M) jumper (F) ==> Ult. I/O LED pin

Much appreciated.  And I appreciate the patience with my lack of hardware skills!
