Through a mutual friend I located a guy in my neighborhood who used a mini-ITX and other laptop components and housed them inside an independant 2P CP. On the backside were all the typical PC inputs. On each side were flippers and on the right side about two inches from the pushbutton he mounted a fan.
It's all very classy looking and he did a helluva job. His button config was just like a Neo Geo and he even used a real NG CP overlay.
He plugged it in to his plasma screen with S-video and booted up ArcadeOS. I got a boner.
Get this; he drilled a small hole under the lip of the lower side of the CP and installed the remote eye thingy (can't think of the name) for his wireless mouse/keyboard combo. My boner got bigger.
I'll see if he'll let me take a picture or two. This thing is amazing. If I had to guess I'd say it was about 20" wide and not even 12" high in the back as the CP had a slight downward slope.

It sounds like the keyboard and mouse are infrared instead of rf (which would need no holes in a wooden cp). I use a wireless mouse and keyboard (rf) in my cab. Never have to plug in the keyboard or mouse and I don't have to worry about positioning them to get them to work.

Sounds like a neat setup. I considered doing something similar before I decided to just go ahead and build a full cab. I'd like to see some pictures if you can get them.

i did the same thing with a full atx board and an athlon 850. had the cd drive mounted in there too. but either the athlon or the vid card ran too hot even with fans and after a few minutes in mame it'd lock up =/
