Title: Mario Kart GP controls (Dolphin emulator)

Hey fellows. Hoping someone can assist me here.

I can't seem to get Mario Kart GP 1/2 item button working on my G29 wheel. Everything else works fine, gas, brake, steering, but no matter what I map the A button (item button to) doesn't seem to work... :-(

Any ideas??
