I recall some members on the board a while ago looking for a vectorized Galaga bezel. I wish I could master the art of vectorizing, but this is one area that I need work in.
I can however provide some really close up hi-res shots of the bezel and leave someone to work their ".AI Magic" on it.
I've been waiting a while to pick this up if any of you can remember, and I said I would help out. I wish the bezel was in a little better quality as far as art goes, but it still looks workable as far as vectorizing it.
I think the chips and flakes could easily be ignored and perhaps even filled in.
Just tell me how to photograph this, and I'll upload the images as needed. I'm figuring it would be best to measure the bezel, and photograph sections at a time, and then piece it together like a huge puzzle.
Any ideas you may have I'm totally open to.

Ah, that would be great. I'm nearly finished vectorizing the rest of the artwork, but still haven't gotten any usable pictures of the bezel.
If you could take a few pictures I could sure piece them together. I did this with the sideart myself (4 pictures stacked on top of each other and some extra shots of detailed bits). Please also add one overall shot to which I can then reference the detail shots.
If you have the time, a close up of one of each of the bugs/planets might help too. I'm not sure how detailed the art is though. For instance, the artwork on the MsPacman Galaga class of 81 (which I took pictures of) was so "coarse" that taking close-ups didn't do much good. So, perhaps 4 overlapping pictures of the 4 corners would be enough.
BTW, if you need one, I have an ftp server where you could upload them. Or you could mail them, I guess. I can PM you the details.
