What are your recommendations for the best pc games that play well on a cab? Bonus points for two player games. My specific setup is running Windows 10, and I have six buttons each for P1 and P2, fwiw.
I tend to stay away from console games as most of those are much better to play on a couch with their designated controllers.
One that I've rediscovered and recommend is Hunter Hunted. If you're not familiar with it, it plays similarly to The Outfoxies.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is very good, as well as Championship Pacman. There is a slight lag on the controls.
I have a Xbox 360 in my cab as well as a PC for Steam Games, no matter what encoder I try I still get the quarter second delay that is irritating.
I haven't tried the new Gauntlet game on Steam but there a loads of compatible platform games.

Yes! Commander Keen and Duke Nukem... I feel like I'm in middle school again.
Reminds me of Jill of the Jungle. ...a lesser known title which I highly recommend.

Towerfall Ascension is a great PC game that can be played co-op or competitively with up to 4 players and it has digital controls.
Killer Queen is another one available on Steam with similar retro stylings. It's technically an arcade game first, although not as good as Towerfall, IMO, and might require more players and/or screens to be really fun.

Played Wolfenstein 3D to death on my old atari jaguar, and been thinking this might might be a good'n, if I can work out a CP for it.....
https://www.moddb.com/games/wolfram (https://www.moddb.com/games/wolfram)
Was painful to play with a mouse and keyboard. Not sure if inputs can be adapted to an arcade setup.

On a side note, here, how do you set up your controls for Wolfenstein? Also, is there a strafe function or did that come later in Doom?

Crimzon Clover World Ignition
Dead Cells 7 button
Double Dragon Neon
Gauntlet Slayer Edition
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 7-button
Jet Lancer
Jets'n'Guns Gold
Jets'n'Guns 2
Lethal League Blaze
Life Goes On
Lode Runner Legacy
One Finger Death Punch 1 & 2
Pac-Man 256
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+
Rampage Knights
Skyforce Reloaded
Stick Fight the Game
Streets of Rage 4 (My favorite)
Streets of Fury EX
Titan Attacks
Valfaris
Many others are great, but devs seem to want to make things more complicated than they should be.
Like having to assign 1 button for interaction, and a separate button for pickup. When it could easily be one button.
Or the one I hate the most, switching weapons. 1 button to open switch weapons, 2 separate buttons to select back and forth, 4 button to select. NOOO! Just use 1 button to change weapons.

On the Jaguar I'm pretty sure there was a strafe. The gamepad had loads of buttons. I never played it at any arcade. On my last mame setup I used a Jaguar emulator and a basic style joypad. I don't remember it feeling as good as I'd hoped.
I beleve there is a mame rom for this but no idea how it would be controlled. Was there even an arcade version of this?

Towerfall Ascension looks pretty cool. Unfortunately, I see it's $14.99 on Steam....I've realized now that I'm apparently only interested in abandonware. :D

In case anyone else has been following this post, Towerfall Ascension is now 75% off. ...I'm going to give it a shot.

Trying stuff for free is my favourite...
I see people have mentioned Broforce and want to add that there was an Expendables tie in promo called Expendabros which is super fun, and free... Or at least was this spring. It's got an old Metal Slug feel to it but different. I find it pretty fun, little comical and for free, gives a good idea of how you like it.
Also as a Shmup Fan, there is a game called Blue Revolver that is super cool, and the free Demo is available and very fun. It's got a Cave inspired feel to it with some interesting art.
Steam had a sale on this past weekend I know and still may... I am trying not to look haha.
I find the PC games that I am drawn to would be awesome on something like a Vewlix or similar. My computer gaming setup is a 32" LG and a Joystick. Old games on old proper cabs seems like a good rule, but once you get into PC games, I feel like there is a lot less rules on what's ideal.

I thought Knight Squad requires controllers for multiplayer support. Does it let you remap keys?
